How We Began
West Sound Free Clinic started as an idea about 9 years ago as Tanya Spoon, ARNP and Carrie Bivens RN were working together with CMRT (The Christian Medical Response Team) at Creation Festival at the Gorge. They dreamed of a clinic that could reach the most needy where they were, not asking them to come to a brick and mortar structure but going to them to provide them with basic medical care services. Finally in early 2012 God began opening the doors for this dream to become a reality and the first board meeting/planning meeting was held in April 2012. The application for federal non-profit status was begun, a location for the first clinic sought and in October of 2012 the first clinic was held on the 4th Friday of the month at The Hub in East Bremerton. Shortly thereafter West Sound Free Clinic began holding monthly clinics at Coffee Oasis Bremerton and on the 4th Tuesday at The Hub in conjunction with the Kitsap Immigrant Resource Center.

How We Work
West Sound Free Clinic operates out of a retired ambulance. Clinic supplies are kept in the ambulance and on clinic night the ambulance is taken to the host location and opened up for business. When the opportunity presents, a clinic is set up in the host building (heat is a blessing!) but when that’s not possible, the back of the ambulance serves as the exam room.
Who We See and Services We Provide
West Sound Free Clinic sees all patients of all ages who have a need for free medical care. Proof of income is not required.
West Sound Free Clinic provides general health management as well as medical exams for illness/injury. Laboratory tests, radiographic tests and prescriptions (non-narcotic) and specialty referrals are provided as needed. Due to lack of appropriate equipment and environment, West Sound Free Clinic is not set up for OB/GYN care.
